Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has presented the 2021 budget proposal of 119, 663, 856, 636 naira, tagged “Budget of Resilience” to the House of Assembly for deliberation and passage.
Presenting the proposed budget to the house in Gombe, Governor Yahaya said the 2021 budget was envisaged to be expended with 48.2% for recurrent expenditure, which is the sum of 57,635, 301, 626 naira, while the sum of 62,028, 555,000 naira had been proposed for the capital budget, which also represented 51.8%.
Governor Yahaya said the budget would be financed by an estimated recurrent revenue of 75, 293, 163,000 Naira and that the capital receipts of 62, 457, 861, 061, 374 naira, while the closing balance would be 429, 306 , 364,000 naira.
He said the government would use the challenging experiences of the 2020 fiscal year to sharpen the vision for the 2021 fiscal year and beyond. With the useful inputs gathered from the people of Gombe, the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and the Ten-Year Development Plan from 2020 to 2030.
Governor Yahaya said his administration was committed to improving the quality of lives of the people of the state within available resources, majorly because of the present challenges being faced in the land.
He outlines the sectoral allocations with road infrastructure gulping the largest in the budget.

Above all, the Gombe State Governor said his administration was committed to improving the quality of lives of the people of the state within available resources, majorly because of the present challenges being faced in the land.
He also said his administration would focus on deepening the provision of physical infrastructure, investing in human capital development, enhancing investment in education, among others.
