Dr Musa Mustapha, the Director Disease Control in the state Primary Healthcare Development Agency stated this on Thursday in Gombe.

According to him, the children will be immunise against polio virus between Nov. 10 and Nov. 15 across the 11 local government areas of the state.

He said the exercise was designed to consolidate on the gains recorded sequel to the declaration of polio free status in the country by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

“To consolidate on the gains and to ensure that the eradication remained so that we don’t have a resurgence of the virus, and also reach out to children partially immunised and those not immunised.

“I am appealing to parents to present their children, make them available during the four days of National Immunisation,” he said.

He also urged community and religious leaders to sensitise the people to promote participation in the exercise.
