Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Mr. David Umahi, has handed over the supervision of the Federal Road Management Agency (FERMA) and the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation (OSGoF) to the Minister of State for Works, Muhammad Bello Goronyo.
This took place during a meeting with the Management of the two Agencies at the Ministry of Works in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Mr. Umahi appreciated President Bola Tinubu for appointing Mr. Goronyo to assist him in executing the tasks under the ministry.
He called on the management and Board of the two Agencies to lend their support and be patriotic in their national duties.
“Put the nation and fear of God first in all you do; if you don’t put God and the people first in all you do, the money you make will go to naught,” he said.
He further advised the Agencies to ask for an increase in their budgetary allocation to enable them to effectively execute their tasks.
The Minister of State for Works promised the agencies an open-door policy to everyone with innovative ideas which he hoped would enable them to carry out their duties effectively.
The Director-General of FERMA, Chukwuemeka Agbasi, and the Surveyor-General of the Federation, Abduganiyu Adebomehin, as well as the South-East Representative on the Board of FERMA, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala, separately promised, on behalf of the Agencies to work in collaboration with the Ministers to serve the nation efficiently.
