The Nigerian Government has assured investors across the country of government’s patronage to ensure the growth of their various investments.
Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo, gave assurance while addressing a delegation of Daniel Franco Institute.
The institute visited the minister to seek his support for the setting up of the Rabelat Entrepreneurship Centre for Animal Husbandry, RECAH in Nigeria.
Adebayo told his guests that the Nigerian Government would continue to do its best to make the country a safe destination for investors.
The Minister said his ministry had the mandate of facilitating the development of viable non-oil commodities.
He said this was in line with quality management systems, geared towards boosting indigenous food and animal production, consumption/sustainability, as well as acceptability at targeted international markets for foreign exchange earnings.
“It is imperative for the ministry to engage the institute to deliberate on the nature of strategic partnership and level of collaboration,” Adebayo stated.
The Managing Director, Rabelat Nigeria Ltd, Ahmed Raji, said RECAH was structured to run both training and commercial outfits for the animal husbandry sub-sector.
He said the training arm would focus on the basic studies in animal husbandry and entrepreneurship, as well as provide the platform for trainees to select, breed, care for, process and market livestock and small animals.
Raji put the cost of the project at two billion Naira, saying that the amount would be spent on the construction of the administrative block, lecture halls, hostel, purchase of teaching aids and other infrastructural facilities.
On the benefits of RECHA, he said it would aid and fast-track the development of agribusiness in Nigeria, create 50,000 jobs and solve the problem of herder/farmers clashes.
