In a strategic move to enhance service delivery and strengthen engagement with citizens, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has announced the appointment of Ado Dogo Audu as Counselor for Political Affairs.
The Governor also appointed Abubakar Shehu Giwa as Special Adviser on Political Affairs and Ahmad Shehu Haruna as Special Adviser on Economic Matters.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were communicated via a statement from the Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa.
Governor Sani expressed confidence in the new appointees, noting that their diverse experiences and skill sets will be vital in addressing the challenges facing the state and fostering a more inclusive governance approach.
Profile of Appointees
Ado Dogo Audu, the newly appointed Counselor for Political Affairs, brings a wealth of experience to the role.
A seasoned politician and successful businessman, he has previously served three terms in the House of Representatives, where he held several key positions, including Chairman of the House Committee on Army and Chairman of the Committee on Labour, Employment, and Productivity. Additionally, he served as the Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources in Kaduna State from 2013 to 2015.
He currently holds leadership positions in various mining companies and possesses a Diploma in Public Administration, alongside qualifications from esteemed international institutions.
Abubakar Shehu Giwa, appointed as Special Adviser on Political Affairs, is recognised as a skilled economist and grassroots political mobiliser.
He has served as the Executive Chairman of Giwa Local Government and played a crucial role in local election campaigns, contributing to the success of the APC in his area. Giwa holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Sector Economy and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, positioning him well to support the political objectives of the Sani administration.
Ahmad Shehu Haruna, appointed as Special Adviser on Economic Matters, is a financial expert with extensive experience in financial consulting. His prior role as Associate Director at Haruna Yahaya & Co. Chartered Accountants involved significant national engagements, including a forensic audit for the Niger Delta Development Commission and financial audits for key organisations. With nearly a decade of expertise, Ahmad is well-equipped to contribute to economic planning and policy implementation in the state.
Governor Sani’s appointments are part of his ongoing commitment to fostering strategic governance that reflects the aspirations and needs of Kaduna State’s citizens. The new appointees are expected to play critical roles in realising the Governor’s vision for the state.
