Governor Bello advocates robust welfare package for military personnel

Niger state governor in North Central Nigeria Abubakar Sani Bello has called for a robust welfare package for both serving and retired security personnel in the Country.

The Niger State Governor, says he believes that security agents both serving and retired should be properly taken care of as means of encouraging other security personnel on their efforts in serving the Country.

The Governor who stated this during the launching of the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem in Minna the Niger state capital, noted that the welfare of security personnel across the country needed to be given priority in order to boost their morale.

He further called on Nigerians on the need to fully participate and always show appreciation during the annual launching of the Armed Forces remembrance emblem, for the selfless service rendered by the active and fallen heroes of Nigeria.

“What we are doing is symbolic, to stand by the Military, and also to show respect and appreciation to the Armed Forces personnel both active and retired,” added Gov Sani Bello.

“Some of them paid a very serious prize in trying to keep us safe and united especially in these days of banditry and insurgency”.

The Chairman of the Nigerian Legion Niger State Chapter, Mamuda Baba Ahmed, who decorated The Governor and his deputy with the remembrance Day emblem, explained that the annual celebration is to pay tribute to all those who fought selflessly for the peace and unity of the country by paying the ultimate price.

He however appealed to all to donate generously to the Legion so as to assist the numerous dependents of free fallen heroes.
