Governor Commissions Senate Leader’s Projects In Ekiti State
Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has officially commissioned several multimillion-naira projects initiated by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele across the Ekiti Central Senatorial District.
In a statement from the Senate Leader’s media office, the projects were highlighted as part of Bamidele’s ongoing constituency efforts.
The Senate Leader, who was lauded by the governor for his impactful contributions to the community, recently received an honorary Doctor of Law degree from Ekiti State University (EKSU).
The projects he personally initiated included the completion of phase two of male and female hostels, a modern stadium, and an FM radio station for EKSU.
Additionally, he contributed to the development of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences in Iyin-Ekiti, Bamidele’s hometown.
The Vice Chancellor of EKSU, Professor Joseph Babalola commended Bamidele for his significant investment in education, emphasising that it remained the best form of investment.
“Other projects commissioned include the completed Oja Oba ultra-modern market in Igede Ekiti, which is powered by solar street lights, as well as similar markets in Aramoko Ekiti, Igede Ekiti, and Iyin-Ekiti.
“Additionally, the late Mrs Abiyamo Juliana Tinuola Bamidele Memorial Ultra Modern Events Centre was handed over to Bababoni Anglican Church in Iyin Ekiti,” the statement read.
During the commissioning, the Oluyin of Iyin Ekiti, Oba Adeniyi Ajakaiye, expressed gratitude to Bamidele for his support, particularly in education, and assured the Senate Leader of the people’s ongoing support and prayers.
Ajakaiye also thanked Mr. President for approving the new Federal University in Iyin-Ekiti and for swiftly appointing council members and principal officers for the institution.
