Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri, has rolled out five years development plans for the state.
He made the statement immediately after his swearing-in by the chief judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Matilda Abrakada Ayemieye, at the Main Bowl, Samson Siasia Sports Complex, Ovom, Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, Southern, Nigeria.
According to him, “we have five years development plan for our state. When we start the project, we will engage stakeholders”.
He also disclosed an upcoming summit in Bayelsa State, where ideas and discussions will be made for the economic growth of the state.
The governor also thanked the Bayelsa people for the opportunity given to him and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo again for the second term in office.
The Bayelsa State governor mentioned some of his administration’s achievements in the last four years in office.
“For the last four years we have built schools, infrastructures, human capacity development, youths and women empowerment programmes” which has benefited about 3000, among other projects.
“Also our government has also developed sports by organizing an annual sports festival in the state, as well as security,” he added.
Governor Douye Diri also mentioned some of the completed road projects in the state, with bridges at various forms.
The governor also expressed his gratitude to Bayelsa State civil servants for their hard work.
