The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has reiterated the need for strengthened collaboration between Akwa Ibom State and the Nigeria Police Force.
He stated this during a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Governor Eno congratulated the IGP on his appointment by Bola Ahmed Tinubu and lauded the Police for “their unwavering efforts in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the country.”

He said, “The primary purpose of his visit was to further strengthen collaborations between Akwa Ibom State and the Nigeria Police in the area of security management,” stressing the importance of synergy with security agencies.

He also applauded the appointment of DCP Anthony Okon Placid, an Akwa Ibom indigene, as the Force Public Relations Officer.
The Governor assured the IGP of “his administration’s continued partnership and support to enhance safety and stability in the state”, adding that the visit “marks a renewed commitment to collaborative security efforts aimed at sustaining peace and development in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.”

Responding, the IGP expressed appreciation for the visit, noting it “would further solidify the existing relationship between the Police and Akwa Ibom State.”
He also commended the Governor for “his developmental strides and his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force.”
The Governor was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; Dean of Commissioners and Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong; Commissioner for Internal Security, Brigadier General Koko Essien (Rtd); Commissioner for Information, Hon. Aniekan Umanah; Commissioner for Works, Prof. Eno Ibanga; Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Dr Frank Ekpenyong; President General, Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative, Uwem Okoko; and Permanent Secretary, Abuja Liaison Office, Mr Aniekan Akpan.
Also present were top officials of the Nigeria Police Force, including DIG Isayaku Mohammed, DIG Margarete Ochalla, DIG Kene Onwumelie, DIG Fayode Adegoke, DIG A.M. Sulaiman, DIG B. Zango, and the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid.
