Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno has charged Christians to rise above present challenges and embrace renewed hope.
Ministering during an Easter commemorative service at All Nations Christian Ministry International in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, Governor Eno described the death and resurrection of Christ as “the greatest triumph and victory for every believer in the world”.
In a sermon titled “The Restoration of Hope,”, drawn from the Gospel of Luke 24:13–21, the governor declared that the resurrection of Jesus Christ remains a powerful symbol of faith, restoration and victory for believers, adding that it “has indeed provided hope for the living who believe in Him.”
He charged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith, emphasising that “when God stands by them, no one can stand against them”, while stressing that only God sanctions events in human life.
Governor Eno further admonished believers to stay attentive to God in the course of service, declaring that “there is no hopelessness, betrayal or failure in Jesus, but power, revival, excellence, success and joy.”
Highlighting the essence of Easter, he urged Christians to sustain hope and faith in God as the foundation for restoration and well-being, noting that Christ’s resurrection has revived “identity, destiny, expectation, honour and joy in life.”
He also encouraged believers to embrace courage and confidence and to pursue excellence, dominance and prosperity, stating that the resurrection has “totally cast away fear, intimidation, and hopelessness.”
The service attended by government officials, clergy, political stakeholders and Christian faithful featured praise and worship sessions, choir ministrations and prayers.
