The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has commended the judiciary in ensuring that justice is served in the appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 Governorship election.
Governor Fintiri described the judgment as a victory for the rule of law, indicating that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.
He also urged all parties to close ranks and work towards the development of the state.
“The judgment did not come to me as a surprise, as the PDP worked tirelessly for its victory during the election,” he said.
He added that the victory is a reconfirmation of the wishes of the Adamawa people freely expressed in the last election.
While expressing appreciation for the ongoing support of the people of the state, the Governor dedicated the victory to God and the people.

He commended the decisions of both the Tribunal and the Court of Appeal for painstakingly assessing all the allegations leveled against him in the petitions before deciding on the merits and demerits of the case.
Similarly, Nigeria’s Union of Journalists, NUJ, Adamawa Chapter, has Congratulated the State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri over the Appeal Court verdict that affirmed his re-election on Monday.
It viewed Governor’s Fintiri victory as a pronouncement that would further deepen the country’s electoral laws and judicial jurisprudence.

The Adamawa State NUJ appealed to the citizens of Adamawa state and even the oppositions to join hands with the State government in consolidating on the present Democratic gains as championed by the Fintiri-led administration in the state.
”It is the NUJ’s hope that all and sundry including the oppositions should team up with the Governor to move Adamawa state forward for the overall interest of Adamawa state.”
