Governor Nwifuru, Nnia Nwodo, Others Celebrate Former Governor Elechi @ 83

The Governor of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria, Mr Francis Nwifuru has celebrated the Former Governor Martin Elechi’s 83rd Birthday Anniversary.
Nwifuru celebrated the former Governor Elechi alongside with the Former National President of Ohaneze Indigbo worldwide Mazi Nnia Nwodo, the former Governors of the State, Dr Sam Egwu and Engr David Umahi.
The Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation who was also the President of Nigeria Senate, Anyim Pius Anyim also Celebrated Mr Elechi.
Nwifuru said “It is heart full of joy that I witness the birthday celebration of our living legend—a founding father, dependable ally and a pursuer of peace and cohesion, Chief Martin Nwanchor Elechi, MFR, CON.
“It gives me great pleasure to see that Chief Elechi, is still fit; mentally alert, in good health, and continues to contribute meaningfully, to our quest for a fairer, more just and equitable Ebonyi State. This perhaps is in fulfilment of the promise of God in the Book of Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
“Today, the Ebonyi State Government having understudied the achievements of this great man before, during and even his political ascendancy, deemed it necessary to celebrate him. We must also be thankful to God for his life and for giving our state an eminent leader like him.”
He concluded by Chief Elechi no doubt remains one of the respected elder statesmen in Ebonyi State who continues to offer rare insights and counsel on how best to organise the State, with the benefits of hindsight, for effective governance.
He said hose who witnessed the tenure of Chief Elechi as the Governor can attest to the fact that he deploy tact, deft, probity, accountability, respect for the rule of law and respected State Civil Service.
“On this special day that we celebrate the birthday of our revered and cherished elder statesman and leader, I join his family, friends and other associates to congratulate and commend him for his outstanding contributions to democratic governance and the cause of progressive politics and governance in our state”. Nwifuru stated.
Also the Enugu Governor, Mr Peter Mbah, represented by his Commissioner for Information, Aka Eze Aka congratulated the Former Governor on his 83rd birthday anniversary.
The Ebonyi State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, His Eminence Scamb Nwokolo prayed for more prosperous life and good health for Chief Martin Elechi.
In appreciation, the former Governor, Martin Elechi thanked Governor Nwifuru for organising the birthday in his honour.
Elechi thanked all who came to grace the occasion.
The birthday for the former Governor Elechi started with holy mass at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Cathedral in Abakaliki, which was officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese His Lordship Peter Nworie Chukwu.
