Ebonyi State Governor Swears In New Commissioner for Agriculture

In a bid to ensure food sufficiency in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria, the Governor, Engr David Umahi has performed the swearing in of a new Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources.
The new Commissioner is Professor Humphrey Nwaobashi.
This was contained in a statement Issued by Special Adviser to the Governor, Mr Choooks Oko in Abakaliki the State Capital.
Before his appointment, Professor Nwaobashi was a Senior Lecturer in Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki .
He replaces the former Commissioner, Chief Ogodo Ali Nomeh who resigned his position recently to contest for Chairmanship of Ezza North Local Government Area.
In his speech, Governor Umahi charged the new Commissioner to get cracking to revive the State’s Agricultural sector.
He charged him to reach out to partners and stakeholders in the Sector to ensure food sufficiency to Ebonyi Citizens.
“There is alot of dull moment in Agriculture right now, I want you to disturb me, I want you to revive it, so I congratulate you and ask you to give life to the Ministry.” Umahi said.
Responding, the new Commissioner, Professor Humphrey Nwaobashi thanked the Governor for finding him worthy to serve and promised to discharge his duties diligently.
“With the privilege given to me today, I have joined you, I want to sincerely appreciate God today for making it possible for me to be counted at the end of this regime that has transformed Ebonyi State, I thank God for that. I thank His Excellency for finding me worthy to serve, I want to sincerely pledge that I shall do all within my reach to ensure that all assignments within my Ministry and every other assignments within my Ministry is duly discharged.” He promised.
