Governor Sani Bello secures Niger North APC Senatorial ticket

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State, North Central Nigeria, has emerged the winner of the Niger North Senatorial District primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Declaring the results in Kontagora, the elections returning officer, Adamu Abdulkareem, announced Governor Sani Bello as the winner, scoring 335 votes to defeat Senator Aliyu Abdullahi Sabi, who scored only 7 votes.
The returning officer further mentioned that they accredited 343 delegates out of 435 registered for the elections held in Kontagora senatorial district.
The Niger North Senatorial District consists of Kontagora, Mariga, Mashegu, Rijau, Magama, Borgu, Agwara, and Wushishi local government areas of Niger State in North Central Nigeria.
Governor Sani Bello, who commended the smooth process of the primary election, said it was a sign that the 2023 general elections would be successful.
The Governor, who called for a peaceful electioneering process ahead of the 2023 general elections, lamented the excessive use of money in the political system, saying that it would not guarantee good governance.
While urging politicians to conduct their campaigns in an orderly manner, the Governor directed security agencies to deal decisively with thuggery and those carrying and displaying dangerous weapons.
” I commend my supporters for their love and maturity throughout the process. I expect that we will conduct further campaigns in an orderly manner,” added Gov Sani Bello.
