Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo, on Tuesday, commissioned the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Regional Headquarters in Awka, the State capital.
The Governor who recalled his almost forty-three years sojourn in politics, also stressed that APGA has a history of working with any government at the centre, assuring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration will not be an exception.
Governor Soludo who is the National Leader of the party said APGA has done something that is unNigerian. He noted that a proper evaluation of its assets will no doubt leave APGA as the wealthiest political party in Nigeria, noting that the message of prudent management of resources by the Victor Oye-led leadership should be cascaded down to the base of the party. He stated that the building is a monumental regional office of APGA.
Speaking earlier, the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye defined Governor Soludo as a man of his word, pointing out that his administration was committed to building the party.
Oye who tagged the building a miracle centre, stated that they inherited 40 million naira with a debt of 15 million at inception, he said that they (his team) worked day and night to deliver the build. He pointed out that the project materialised because they keyed the Governor’s vision through hardwork and resilience. He concluded by saying that “this edifice is built to prove to the world that Anambra and Nigeria can work.”
The regional secretariat has the main complex with five floors with all the offices en suite. It is solar-powered with a generator house, among other facilities.
The unveiling of the building and cutting of cake climaxed the event.
Present at the event were, the deputy governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Secretary to Anambra State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Uche Okafor, his Deputy, Dr Paschal Agbodike, Anambra State APGA Chairman, Barrister Ifeatu Obiokoye, members of the NWC and Anambra State Executive of APGA.
