Governor Soludo Commissions New Hospital In Anambra State

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has commissioned a new hospital built by a group of Anambra indigenes based in the United States of America to meet the healthcare needs of the citizens.

During the commissioning, Governor Soludo commended the financiers of the project for their collaborative efforts in funding and constructing the facility.

The hospital project, located in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of the state was initiated by the community members, who were concerned about the lack of medical facilities in their area.

The Governor said, “The project is a good example of unity and progress, emphasized that his administration is committed to the Public, Community, Private Partnership, PCPP model of development as government, the private sector and the communities must synergize to enhance development.”

While calling for similar collaborative efforts in communities to accelerate development across the state, Governor Soludo revealed his administration’s plans to support healthcare infrastructure in Nibo, assuring of building two additional hospitals in the neighbouring wards, equip existing facilities with medical personnel and provide technical assistance to the Nibo Community Hospital.

Speaking at the event, the state commissioner for health, Dr. Ben Afam Obidike hailed the citizens who built the hospital and urged the community and health workers to properly protect the structure and the equipment, therein.

On his part, the President General of Nibo Town Union, Professor Tony Nwokoye, appreciated those who took it upon themselves to build a project that will benefit a large number of members of their community.

The new hospital which is expected to give easier access to Healthcare needs of people in Nibo and environs is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and a full range of facilities to serve the needs of patients.
