Governor Soludo Launches All Anambra Community Plastic Recovery Challenge

The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo in striving to create green and sustainable environment, on Thursday, launched All Anambra Communities Plastic Recovery Challenge.
Governor Soludo,who spoke through the Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim while marking World Environment Day 2023 called on Anambrarians to take advantage of the initiative which is lucrative and also beneficial to the communities,the state and the country in general.
He noted that Anambra is presently facing worse of existential threat from erosion, flood disaster. Speaking further he added that considering that most of our activities are the major causes of these climatic disasters we must do everything possible to address and protect our environment and our state from further damage.
The founder and convener of Anambra Waste Recyclers Association, Ambassador Obuese Phillip called on the youths, the elderly and others to key into the newest financial innovation by opening Waste Bank Account at Recyclers Points to enable them earn big through deposits of their plastic wastes across the state.
Members of Anambra State Association of Town Unions,ASATU, led by National President, Barrister Akpudo thanked the state government especially the ministry of environment for such lucrative initiative. He emphasized that it should be continued and sustained so as to help in ending the era of monuments of massive wastes in some locations in the state.
The commissioner for environment,Dr Felix Odimegwu equally appealed to Anambra citizens to support the efforts of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in creating the smart, livable, secured, prosperous, sanitized environment and beautiful homeland. He equally call on media houses, state and national orientation agencies to ensure the programs, policies of the government get to the grassroot.
