Governor Vows To Maintain Peace In Rivers State

The Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara has reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace and fostering development despite ongoing political challenges.

Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed Palace of Nyeweali Akpor Kingdom and the accompanying residential quarters for King Eze Levi Amos Oriebe, Fubara assured the people of the state that they will emerge stronger and more united.

During the event, Fubara emphasised the importance of lawfulness and peace, urging the citizens of Rivers State to stay resolute in the face of recent political turbulence.

He highlighted his administration’s commitment to implementing impactful development projects to better the lives of the people.

The newly unveiled palace is a significant milestone, being the first of its kind in over 200 years of the Akpor Kingdom’s history.

It features a duplex building with two wings, a royal garden, a traditional meeting place, and other essential amenities. The project was completed in just six months and is a testament to the Governor’s dedication to improving the well-being of the people.

Eze Oha Apara (IV), the Paramount Ruler of Apara Kingdom, lauded Governor Fubara for his unwavering support of the traditional institution and his efforts to promote peace and development in Rivers State.

Governor Fubara also expressed his gratitude to the people of Akpor Kingdom for bestowing him with a Chieftaincy title and reassured them of his commitment to the continuous development of the state.
