The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the newly elected Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Umar Haruna Doguwa, and other members of the party’s executive.
Governor Yusuf made this known during the 38th meeting of the State Executive Council held in Kano, when the new APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, who recently resigned as Commissioner for Water Resources, paid a farewell visit to the council.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad.
The governor commended Doguwa for his contributions to the development of the state during his time in the Executive Council, particularly his role in the education sector, which he said supported the government’s decision to declare a state of emergency in education.
He noted that although Doguwa’s departure from the council was emotional, his new role as party chairman would further strengthen the party and contribute to the state’s progress.
