The Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has inspected Projects at Lomani and Gajibo communities of Dikwa and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGA), assuring indigenes of speedy completion of the Projects within a period of 5 months.
In an interview with journalist at the inspection site, Zulum said promises were made to resettle many displaced communities in Borno State, but due to some factors beyond control it wasn’t possible.
He said, “this time around as you can see the level of construction in Lomani and Gajibo is remarkable and within the shortest time possible we will resettle this communities and support them in such a way they can start their livelihood.”
“I have ordered Project managers for the completion of resettlement houses, for Lomani they have 2 months dateline while in Gajibo have 3 months to complete.
The governor also added that, “we also ordered for the completion of other ongoing projects especially public infrastructure and we will look into how we will create employment and economic opportunities for the 2 communities.
“We will ensure to utilise the abandoned ground water in these communities by providing water pumps for irrigation activities.”
Governor Zulum while in Dikwa paid a courtesy visit to Shehu of Dikwa and called on the Emirate to support the state government and ensure indigenes and other community members embrace irrigation farming as government is willing to provide agricultural tools to harness the potentials of the community.
The governor also urged the people to be vigilant and resilient and cooperate with security personnel to have a more secured environment.
