Governor Zulum Returns To Borno After Weeks Of International Engagement

The Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum had returned to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital after weeks of political and economic engagement.
The engagement was particularly in UK, where he called on the international community to partner with the Borno State Government to provide lasting solutions to some of the challenges confronting the state.
Governor Zulum arrived at the Maiduguri Airforce-base aboard a presidential flight and was received by the deputy governor Usman Umar Kadafur alongside members of the executive council and other top government functionaries in the State.
Immediately after his arrival, at a brief interview, governor Zulum told journalist some of the positive outcomes of the foreign trip, he said ” we were in UK to look into the possibility of getting support from the international organisation with a view to ending the Insurgency in the North East and particularly in Borno State.
“We have established what is called ‘Borno Model’ for the management of repentant Boko Haram, we had meeting with Jonathan fowler and his team in the UK and we have taken far reaching recommendations on how best the Borno government can partner with the international Communities with a view of managing the repentant Boko Haram and to look into the possibility of coming up with medium and longer term sustainable solutions to the crisis in Borno, and that has been the focal point of our discussion”.
Similarly governor Zulum visited the family residence of late elder stateman Kaumi Damboa to condole the family for the loss, while praying for repose of the departed soul.
Zulum had also visited the family residence of late Emeritus Umaru Shehu and that of Massa Fannarambe to pay his last respect.
Professor Emeritus Umaru Shehu was one of the first Emeritus in Nigeria who has contributed meaningfully to the society and was a role model to many, the governor joined the both families in prayers for the repose of the soul of the departed.
