Nigerian Governors will hold its 5th valedictory meeting on Wednesday, 26th of April, in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The Director-General of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mr Asishana Okaura, who disclosed this in an invitation issued to all the 36 governors said the valedictory meeting, the fifth in 2023, will be physical as four previous sessions were virtual.
According to him, 17 Governors will be leaving the Forum, having completed their terms of office and newly elected governors will be inducted between May 14 and 17, 2023.
He added that the valedictory meeting would end the chairmanship of Aminu Tambuwal, the Sokoto State Governor who assumed leadership of the forum following the expiration of the tenure of former Chairman, Kayode Fayemi.
“Another Chairman will, in due course, emerge from among Governors of the majority party as first time governors are ineligible to vie for the Chairmanship of the Forum.“
