As politicians declare intentions in various states across the country, two top politicians in Kaduna state, Senator Uba Sani and Muhammed Sani, popularly known as Dattijo, have declared their intentions to run for the number one seat in the state.

Under the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sen. Uba stated this at the Secretariat amidst a mammoth crowd. At the same time, the former Chief of Staff to Governor El-Rufai, Dattijo, took his declaration to the State Assembly complex.

At the declaration of Dattijo, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, and other principal officers were in attendance in the spirit of oneness and solidarity for him.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna party Chairman of APC, a majority of the party’s local government chairmen, and a member representing Unguwan Sanusi Constituency, Muhammad Auwal Yaro, were spotted during the declaration of Uba Sani.

While declaring his intention, Uba Sani said, “as our beloved Governor prepares to gloriously leave the office in May 2023, the onus is on us all to continue and uphold his achievements and legacy. And like the popular saying goes, you can not coach football if you are not a footballer yourself.”

According to the Senator, It is only fair and natural to have someone who understands El-Rufai’s philosophy, one who has carefully understudied him, a person who has been in the trenches with him to continue from where he will stop on May 29, 2023.

“It is on this score that I, Senator Uba Sani is formally declaring today my intention to contest the gubernatorial primaries of our great party, the APC and indeed the main election in 2023 to succeed my leader and mentor, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai as the next Governor of Kaduna state.”

Sani mentioned that he was making the bid and declaration with the greatest sense of responsibility, intense love for the state, and fear of God.

“In fact, we are poised to carry on the achievements and legacies of Governor El-Rufai and take them to higher levels for the collective good and the best interest of the good people of Kaduna state.”

On his part, Dattijo promised to strengthen the mission of Governor El-Rufai if allowed to attain the governorship position.

“I have been in government in the last seven years and my priority is to sustain the successes of the Governor. A foundation has been built, and the structure is workable, and our priority is to complete the structure,” Dattijo explained.

Dattijo, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Kaduna state, further disclosed several aspirants within the APC. All of them have good qualities, many of whom he said he had worked with and would continue to work with in the future.

“I am putting myself forward and when there is a better candidate, of course we all follow. We are to visit all 23 local government areas of the state and the stakeholders. If the people of Kaduna state think differently, we are going to tow the line, APC is one big family,” he emphasized.
