Group Commits to Plant Palm Trees in South-East Nigeria

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo UK and Northern Ireland have announced plans to contribute to the growth of businesses in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria by planting one million palm trees.

This initiative was shared in a statement released by Asa Blessing-Chijekwu, the Media Consultant of Ohanaeze, following the visit of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, to London.

Lady Aqueen Ibeto, the President of Ohanaeze in the UK, expressed that the focus of the palm tree planting project would be on the South-Eastern states.

According to Blessing-Chijekwu, Lady Aqueen Ibeto, the President of Ohanaeze in the UK, stated that the focus of palm tree planting would be on the states in the South-East region.

“We plan to plant one million palm trees in Nigeria and we are working with our members who have vast land in the South-East, to commence that project,” Ibeto was quoted as saying.

Additionally, Ibeto mentioned that Ohanaeze Ndigbo UK had already obtained a location in Enugu to establish a skill acquisition center.
She further emphasized that this center would be replicated in various states across the South-East region.

“We are extending the gesture of development back home to impact lives in our country and zone.We plan to plant one million palm trees in Nigeria and we are working with our members who have vast land in the South-East, to commence that project,” Ibeto was quoted as saying.

Ibeto also said that Ohanaeze Ndigbo UK had already secured a place in Enugu where they would build a skill acquisition centre.

She said that the skill acquisition centre would be replicated in other states in the South-East.
