Group donates cash, learning materials to patients, orphans in Adamawa
The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Adamawa Branch, has donated cash to patients and learning materials to orphans and other students in Yola-North Local Government of the state. The association made the donations on Monday at Specialist Hospital Yola, Runde-Baru community school, Jambutu, and a children’s home in the state.

Alhaji Usman Ahmed, the branch Chairman of ANAN, said the gesture was part of the association’s Cooperate Social Responsibility to humanity.
According to him, previously, such donations are being done at the national level but have been moved down to state level to reach vulnerable people.
He added that the association was not only mindful of members welfare but also the community, especially the vulnerable.
Malam Mohammed Adamu, the Director Social Mobilisation, Local Government Education Authority (LEA), appreciated the gesture, adding that the material would be beneficial for teaching and learning in the school.
According to him, the gesture is first of its kind in the history of the school. He called on other professional bodies to emulate ANAN.
On her part, Aisha Mohammed, a patient’s relative, also appreciated the gesture.
According to her, the amount given to them will help them to acquire detergent and buying drugs for her child who is on admission for weeks.
Mrs Mary Bola, Deputy in-charge of the children’s home, also appreciated ANAN for the donations and assured of judicious use of the learning materials for the success and education development of the orphans.
The learning materials included cartons of exercise books, pens, pencils and chalks while an undisclosed amount of money was given to the patients.
