The Head of the GSWMI-CSR team, Dr Ololade Akinrinlola, disclosed this to the Newsmen on Friday in Lagos.
The GSWMI-CSR team is dedicated to embodying the love of Christ, and has extended its annual tradition of bringing smiles to the faces of the underserved and vulnerable members of society this Christmas.
The outreach which commenced in September cuts across 18 states in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
According to Akinrinlola, the GSWMI-CSR is funded by donations from members and partners.
According to her, GSWMI aims at reaching the whole world, adding that currently it had CSR activities across the 36 states in Nigeria and the FCT.
She said the CSR initiative included payment of hospital bills and distribution of raw food items to orphanages, prisons and old peoples’ homes.
“The highlight of December’s efforts saw the team visit the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, marking a significant chapter in their ongoing CSR endeavours.
“Their compassionate outreach touched the lives of numerous individuals: 36 mothers, including those caring for twins and triplets, 12 male patients in the ward, and five children in the paediatric ward. Prayers and support were offered to patients grappling with diabetes and cancer, alongside distributing heartfelt gifts while invoking blessings upon each recipient,” she said.
Akinrinlola noted that the team in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, visited prison inmates, extending hope that can be found in the Christian faith.
“In a testament to their commitment to holistic outreach, the Port Harcourt team extended their efforts to the prison, where they spent time with inmates, spreading the message of hope and love as inspired by Christ’s teachings.
“The cumulative impact of these initiatives over time has been profound, benefiting over 10,000 individuals since its inception. Notably, the outreach efforts extended beyond the streets and inner cities with focused attention given to Internally Displaced Persons, orphanages, and widows during this December’s activities,” Akinrinlola said
She further reiterated GSWMI-CSR’s commitment in the new year to reach out to the downtrodden in the society with the love of God.
“With a dedication to perpetuate this compassionate initiative, plans are underway to continue and expand their efforts into the new year.
“The ministry remains steadfast in its commitment to making a sustained, positive difference in the lives of those in need, reflecting the essence of continuous giving and support for the vulnerable segments of society,” She added.
