Group Endorses Paul Chukwuma as APC’s Flagbearer for Anambra Governorship Race

Ahead of the November 2025 Anambra gubernatorial elections, the Ikemba Front, a formidable support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) comprising over 20,000 members, courted by late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, has officially endorsed Sir Paul Chukwuma for the Anambra governorship position.

This endorsement was announced during a meeting held in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, convened by the group’s founder, Dr. Chidi Okoye.

Dr. Okoye emphasized that the decision to support Sir Chukwuma was driven by his exemplary leadership, competence, and steadfast commitment to the APC since its inception. “As a founding member and former National Auditor of the APC, Chukwuma has played a pivotal role in revitalizing and strengthening the party in Anambra State, earning the confidence of the Ikemba Front members.

“His strong ties to communities across the state ensure that his policies will be inclusive and people-centered.

“He has been instrumental in establishing operational offices across the state’s 326 wards and 21 local governments, effectively enhancing the APC’s presence and influence.”

Okoye further stated that Sir Paul’s impeccable service record and commitment to transparency make him a trustworthy leader.

“He embodies the values of justice, equity, and service to humanity, principles championed by the late Ikemba Nnewi.

“Sir Paul Chukwuma is the man to beat in this contest, thanks to his vast experience and dedication to the party,” Dr. Okoye said.

He described Chukwuma as a visionary leader with the capability to reposition Anambra for progress.

“It was based on what he is capable of doing that the members of Ikemba Front moved a motion for his endorsement. The motion came from the floor members and was generally supported by all persons. I can assure you that he is going to win. And he will reposition Anambra State.

“We will mobilize votes and resources to ensure Chukwuma emerges as the APC’s candidate in the upcoming primaries, as his ambitions align seamlessly with the desires of the Anambra populace,” he added.

Dr. Okoye further clarified that any reports suggesting the endorsement of other candidates, such as Nicholas Ukachukwu, were unfounded, reinforcing that Sir Paul Chukwuma stands out among the aspirants.

He concluded with confidence, stating, “With our collective strength, we are poised to support a candidate who embodies change and vision for Anambra State.”

The endorsement is seen as a significant challenge to incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

The Ikemba Front’s support for Sir Chukwuma reflects a broader shift in political allegiances and signals a notable increase in APC’s power base in the region.
