A socio-cultural Fulani organisation under the name Miyatti Allah Kautal Hore has inaugurated the first batch of the Nomad Vigilante group in Nasarawa state.
The National President of the organisation, Dr. Abdullahi Bello-Bodejo stated this during the inauguration in Lafia the state capital.
He said the Nomad vigilante group aims to help secure the livelihood of farmers and herders, and aid information gathering and intelligence to the Nigerian security Agencies of criminals within the local communities.
“Today is the official launch of 1,140 youths into the Nomad Vigilante but our target for Nasarawa state is 4000 which would be completed on or before February 5th,” he said.
Bello-Bodejo further charged the Nomad vigilante to be truthful and work with the fear of God as they embark on this peaceful journey of bringing peace to communities.
He appealed to Nigerians to stop ethnic profiling as every tribe has its bad eggs as well.
Speaking, the National Secretary of the Association, Saleh Alhassan said “the Nomad Vigilante Group is not merely an initiative but it is a manifestation of our shared commitment to economic prosperity, job creation, exclusivity, and the relentless fight against banditry, cattle rustling, hunger and poverty.”
Also speaking, the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, and the Nomad Vigilante group would add value to our security architecture in the state.
He said the police would work hand in hand with the group to achieve the desire result.
CP further said they should make sure they work within the law.
