The Southern Kaduna Aid Foundation (SKAID), a Non-Governmental Organisation, has offered free medical services for the members of Kwoi community in Jaba Local Government Area.

Speaking during the outreach, SKAID’s Executive Director, Bello Bisalla, said the initiative aimed to complement government’s effort at improving access to healthcare services in rural communities.

“You will agree with me that whatever it is, government is doing, the government needs to be supported.

“So, we are doing this here to bridge the healthcare gap in the community.

“We are targeting no fewer than 1000 people to benefit from this medical outreach,” he said.

Bisalla explained that the NGO was committed to enhancing public health through preventive care, access to treatment, and community health education.

According to him, every individual deserved access to essential health care services, irrespective of their socio-economic status.

He said that the intervention included general medical check-ups, treatment for eye disease, distribution of reading glasses, surgeries for glaucoma, hernia, and appendicitis.

He listed other components of the intervention to include, maternal and child health services, as well as health education and counselling.

In his remarks, the Kpop Ham, Dr Danladi Maude, represented by the Galadiman Jaba, Kyom Maigari, commended the organisation for it’s humanitarian efforts in the area.

He called on other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate SKAID in reaching out to disadvantaged communities to foster a more inclusive society.

Two of the beneficiaries, Precious Sunday and Danladi Samaila, appreciated SKAID for the intervention, describing it as timely.

They prayed God to grant the organisation the enablement to do more for the people of the area and beyond.
