Group presents emergency health card scheme
Fontana Society, a technology based membership platform in Lagos, presented an emergency health card scheme, to fastrack easy access to healthcare during emergencies.

Prof. Anthony Kila, the President of the Society, said the Fontana Emergency Health Card was initiated to address some of the challenges in accessing and providing quality emergency healthcare in the country.
According to Kila, the card which is the first of its kind in West Africa, will enable the card holders pay for treatment, medication and other services needed during emergency.
He said, “Fontana Health Card is a major milestone in the health sector of Nigeria as it allows users and providers to overcome a lot of the challenges that they face in the process of accessing quality care during emergency.
“The essence of humanity comes out when life is at stake and that is why the card was initiated by the society to reduce preventable deaths during emergencies.
“The card can only be used during emergency situation and it is also transferable to whoever a card holder wants to benefit from their package.
“The card is seamless, sensible and smart to use for individuals who intend to make use of the affordable services it render.”
Kila commended hospitals, pharmacies, diagnostic centres and other healthcare providers that were quick to understand the vision and were able to meet the required standards to participate in the programme.
Speaking earlier, Dr Fola Rogers, the Business Director of the Fontana Emergency Health Card, described the initiative as a major milestone in the nation’s health sector.
“This momentous occasion is a celebration of creativity, collaboration and relentless pursuit of excellence to make healthcare accessible to Nigerians during medical emergencies.
“Several months of dedication, hardwork and pushing boundaries has finally paid- of with the unveiling of this card,” she said.
