A youth group under the aegis of Nigerian Forum for the Advancement and Development of Youth (NIFADY) has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to appoint a former presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Nicholas Felix, as Minister of Youth to give youths in the country a sense of belonging.

Dr. Nicholas Felix, an indigene of Edo State, was the youngest presidential aspirant under the platform of the APC during the 2023 general election, although he withdrew from the presidential race.

The appeal by the group followed the redeployment of Abubakar Momoh, who is also an Edo-born politician, from the Ministry of Youth to the Ministry of Niger Delta Development.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, the National Coordinator of NIFADY, Hon. Suleiman Angbashim, said the appointment of Dr. Nicholas Felix to oversee the Youth Ministry would ensure rapid development and empowerment for many Nigerian youths.
“We want to commend Abubakar Momoh on his appointment by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We are also aware that the President has redeployed him from the Ministry of Youth to the Ministry of Niger Delta Development.

“That is why we want to appeal to His Excellency President Bola Tinubu to appoint the youngest 2023 presidential aspirant of the APC, Dr. Nicholas Felix, to replace Momoh as Minister of Youth.
“He is also from Edo State and worked tirelessly for the victory of the APC during the 2023 general election, and we believe he has the capacity to deliver on the job,” said Hon. Suleiman Angbashim.
While thanking the President for assembling his cabinet in the required 60 days of being in office, Angbashim called on youths across the country to continue to give him the necessary support to succeed.
