Group seeks more youth inclusion in governance
A pressure group, Hope for Youth Organisation, has implored President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to give the youths more positions in his cabinet.
The group also applauded the president on the appointments of the new service chiefs and special advisers, saying the president has so far demonstrated his love for the youths.
Rev. Gabriel Duduyegbe, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the organisation, who gave the commendation in a statement on Sunday in Lagos, described President Tinubu’s appointment so far as “the best, devoid of ethnicity or religious colouration,”
Duduyegbe stated that the president in his recent appointments had engaged four Nigerian youths as Special Adviser.

“We are primarily committed to ensuring youth inclusiveness in governance, job opportunities and anything that can benefit the youth and give them a voice.
“We commend Mr President on the appointment of the new service chiefs and special advisers, but our organisation is expecting more from Mr President.
“The organisation also appeal to Mr President for more youth appointment as ministers and other political offices to quench the yelling of Nigerian youths for not being carried along in governance.
“We want Mr President to help us, in the next set of appointments, to involve more youths in his cabinet,” it said.
The group also appealed to state governors to follow the footstep of the president in appointing youths as commissioners, special advisers and other political offices in their states.
It advised the newly appointed service chiefs to see their appointment as a call to serve Nigeria and not for personal interest.
“They must work together to help Mr President in achieving his campaign promises on security.
“We also urge Nigerians to support and pray for Mr President for good health and God’s wisdom to enable him fulfil all his campaign promises,” the group said.
