“To digitalize Anambra State Health system, the basis which is the grassroots, is the Primary Healthcare. I urge the participants to pay rapt and maximum attention to the training.
“We want to see the impact and benefits of this programme in our service deliveries as our patients will now be issued the Anambra eHealth cards which grant secure access to health records, reduce in-clinic wait time and better continuity of care across health facilities. This then calls for us to put in our best to ensure Anambra continues to be the number one state,” the Executive Secretary said. The Director, of Awka South Local Government Health Authority (LGHA), Dr. Frank Umeh noted that there was a need to follow the digitalization trend as the world was evolving with everything going digital.
Dr. Umeh while commending the Executive Secretary for her doggedness in pursuit of the goal also appreciated the Elephant Healthcare Company for its role in achieving the desired results.
The Senior Operations Manager of Elephant Healthcare Nigeria, Mr. Stephen Zobaram explained that the training of trainers was to scale the launching of the programme in Anambra State.
“The training which will cut across the 21 LGAs of the state but commenced with Awka South LGA, will equip health workers with the knowledge on how to use the elephant operating system which is an eHealth platform. “This means that rather than using manual folders, health workers will use the elephant operating system to provide care to patients with a smart card: the Anambra eHealth card.”
Mr. Zobaram explained that the State Government was very keen on bringing about digital transformation in the healthcare sector which would lead to the ease of providing healthcare services to Anambra citizens.
“Some benefits of this programme include getting live data in real-time, the ease of reporting, and the values that the system is providing not just to the facilities and patients, but also to the offices of key stakeholders in the state’s health sector”.
“The programme will help give visibility across health facilities to the state health industry’s key stakeholders and with the real-time data gotten, they will be able to make informed decisions in real-time because they have the visibility”. The Senior Operations Manager, further noted that the reception/feedback as regards the programme from the grassroots, facilities, frontline health workers and patients all point to the indication that the activity would be a success in the state.
The training of trainers which was held at Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area, LGA, had in attendance, health workers from the various health facilities in the area.
