A coalition of Southern and Northern Organisations for Peace, has urged All Progressives Congress, APC, to zone the position of Senate President to the South-East zone in the interest of equity, fairness and peace.

The group stated this in a statement issued by its Secretary, Mr Chukwuemeka Uzoka, after the National Peace Walk, organised for the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, in Abuja on Thursday.

Uzoka, said the Convener of Northern Leaders group, Dr Ahmed Ahmed, spoke on the need for the in-coming administration to zone the position to the South-East to give a sense of inclusion to the Nigerian project.

Ahmed said that “the group from Abuja Fountain Garden walked through Wuse 2 to the APC secretariat in Abuja.”

He stated that the group handed over the “Peace Note” to the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, on the need for equity, fairness and peace as a way of consolidating the nation’s democratic process.

Also, the Co-convener of the Peace Walk and Secretary of the coalition, Mr Uzoka Chukwuemeka, stated that zoning the senate president position to the South-East would kill all allegations of exclusion by the zone.

President of Unemployed Youths Association of Nigeria, Mr Ebi Zuofa, said that a new Nigeria was possible if the in-coming administration could look into all the challenges of unemployment and address them squarely.
