The Renewed Hope Concern Citizens (RHCC) and the Association of Nigerian Diaspora Investors (ANDI) have called for policy enhancements to foster investment growth in Nigeria’s housing and energy sectors.

Speaking during a peaceful advocacy walk in Abuja, the groups emphasised the need for investor-friendly policies to drive economic progress.

The demonstration was conducted in an orderly manner, with security personnel from the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Road Safety Corps ensuring public safety throughout the event.

During the advocacy walk, RHCC Head of Mobilisation, Mr. Boluwaji Adeyemi, delivered a speech emphasising the concerns of the Association of Nigerian Diaspora Investors (ANDI). He stressed the urgent need for the Renewed Hope Administration to restore the 2006 Gazetted alignment of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, which has long provided stability for energy sector investments.

“We, the Association of Nigerian Diaspora Investors (ANDI), represent a coalition of concerned Nigerians calling on the Renewed Hope Administration to urgently address critical issues threatening the stability and growth of Nigeria’s energy sector,” Adeyemi said.

The groups are calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Works and Housing, Senator David Umahi, to urgently address these issues to restore investor confidence and economic stability.

RHCC emphasised that “deviations from the 2006 Gazetted alignment could undermine investor confidence and disrupt economic growth.” The group urged the government to act swiftly in protecting diaspora investments, stating that “safeguarding investor confidence is key to ensuring continued economic success under the Renewed Hope Administration.”

Similarly, ANDI expressed concerns over shifts in Nigeria’s energy sector policies, warning that “deviations from established policies create uncertainties that undermine current and future foreign investments.” The group called on the Minister of Works and Housing to restore the alignment, arguing that “restoring this alignment will reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to a stable investment climate, boosting foreign investor confidence and attracting capital necessary for infrastructure development.”

RHCC Chairman, Hon. Tayo Agbaje, stressed that “maintaining the 2006 Gazetted alignment is essential for investment stability, ensuring a predictable framework for both local and foreign investors.” He noted that diaspora investors play a crucial role in economic growth, adding that “protecting their interests is essential to sustaining and expanding these contributions.”

Both RHCC and ANDI called on the Renewed Hope Administration to take immediate steps to address these concerns. They emphasised that restoring the 2006 Gazetted alignment would send a strong message to investors about Nigeria’s commitment to stability and economic growth.
