Groups condemn killings in Kaduna State

The Network of Peace Journalists in partnership with the Conflict Mitigation and Management Regional Council (CMMRC), has condemned the attack in Southern Kaduna.

This was made known in a press statement jointly signed by the group leaders,  Network of Peace Journalists,  Ibrahima Yakubu and the Chairman CMMRC, Ibrahim Yusuf and made available to the media in Kaduna state.

According to the groups, “We received with shock the unfortunate attacks on community members in zonzon community of Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State which claimed the lives of 9 persons with many reportedly injured. 

As a peacebuilding structure, we totally condemn the manner of such attacks and call on the security agencies and the Kaduna State government to do the needful in terms of arresting the perpetrators of such dreadful acts.

“We commensurate with the families  who have lost their loved one as well as the entire people in the region over the unfortunate incident.”

“We further appealed to all the relevance government agencies responsible to do more in terms of protection of lives and property, while ensuring that communities are given the needed protection, and to as well provide relief materials to the affected persons.”

The group solicited more understanding among the religious groups and Youths to ensure continued support for peace at all levels, as they have a strong influence in terms of peace and unity.

They then prayed for peace in affected localities in Kaduna State and the nation at large.
