The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Nasarawa state has distributed sensitive materials across the thirteen Local government areas of the state.
The materials were distributed in the presence of officials of political parties and their candidates participating in the elections as well as security personnel and INEC officials.
Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Dr. Uthman Ajidagba, said all the sensitive materials are on ground and being distributed.
“What we are doing, it’s a constitutional requirement that sensitive material should be distributed across the local government of the state.
“Election is in three days… but we have distributed the materials so that the electoral officers (EO) in the local governments can distribute the materials tomorrow in the presence of the political agents and security so that latest by 5 pm on Friday, the materials would be moved… as a result of that, voting would commence by 8:am on Saturday”, Dr. Uthman said
The INEC Resident Commissioner in the state also reassured electorates that the election would hold as scheduled except if there is a message from the national headquarters.
He also said that INEC would deliver a credible, free, fair, and transparent election that would reflect the choice of the majority of the people that voted in the election.
Speaking, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) agent, Mr. Ayiwulu B. Ayiwulu said they are satisfied with the distribution of the sensitivity materials.
