Gubernatorial Candidates Vote in Rivers Polls

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Siminalayi Fubura and his wife have cast their votes in Unit 8, Ward 5, Opobo in Opobo/Nkoro LGA polling unit of Rivers State. 

Speaking with newsmen after voting, Fubura declared that with the overwhelming support from the people, he is sure of victory.

Similarly, the Gubernatorial Candidate of Accord Party, Dumo Lulu-Briggs of Accord Party Dumo also cast his vote in his Abonnema polling unit in Rivers State.

Speaking to Journalists after casting his vote, Mr Lulu-Briggs commended the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC for making the process easy and seamless.

 “The process is seamless I would say at this time. I made the same assessment in the last elections, it was seamless up until 3 PM when all the difficulty and so on started. So far and so good, a lot of people have voted and there is no intimidation and harrasment.”. 
“Nobody can deny anybody their right to a chance to choose who will become their Governor. They should come and cast their votes and whosoever wins, wins. Rivers State deserve a person who will be their governor. This election is local, the other one was Presidential and it is a bit distant” he added.

Dumo Lulu-Briggs

He stated that he was impressed by the turnout of voters.

Senator Magnus Abe of the Social Democratic Party SDP also cast his vote at his polling unit in Ogoni and called on INEC to be transparent in its dealings.

He appreciated the voters for coming out to carry out their civic responsibility.

Senator Abe also called on the INEC to ensure that the BVAS work correctly this time around and results are uploaded from the polling units.
The Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Tonye Cole also cast his vote at polling unit 2, ward 12 in Akuku-Toru LGA of the State.
