Gubernatorial Polls: Senator Enang Advises Nigerians To Vote Wisely

The Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to President Muhammadu Buhari on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang has advised Nigerians to look beyond ethno-tribal sentiments and vote for candidates that will represent their interest.
Senator Enang advice came as Nigerians vote in the Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly election on Saturday.
The seasoned politician also called on Nigerians to be law abiding as they cast their votes to elect the candidates of their choice.
He told Voice of Nigeria in an interview that Nigerians should look beyond ethno-tribal sentiments and vote for candidates that will represent their interest and ensure good governance.
Senator Enang said; “Please vote in a manner your conscience tells you, your life and the lives of your children will be better, we should not consider the ethnic question, it should be the question of this is the content of your character, let it reflect in the governance of the state.”
He also advised the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to promote transparency in the election process and avoid hitches experienced during the just concluded presidential election.
“INEC should please go in early, distribute the material in a manner that will go to different polling units at the appropriate time. They should look at the population of the voters in each of the units and deploy enough BVAS,” he stated.
Speaking on Security during the elections, Senator Ita Enang, admonished all parties involved to adhere to INEC’s rules and guidelines, to avoid attack and any form of violence during the polls.
He commended the professionalism and good conduct of the security agencies for the role they played in maintaining peace and securing throughout the process and asked them to keep that pedigree as this would give confidence to the people, credibility to the election and more applause to our country Nigeria.
Nigerians are voting in 28 out of 36 States and the FCT in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
