Gunmen kill former NPC Commissioner, abduct two children in Nasarawa state

Gunmen at the early hours of Sunday killed the Former Federal Commissioner of National Population Commission (NPC) Zakari Kigbu, at Azuba community of Lafia, Nasarawa State capital.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Ramhan Nansel, in the state confirmed this to Journalists in Lafia the state capital.
He said that based on preliminary investigation, the gunmen also abducted two children of the deceased after killing their father.
According to the Police spokesperson, Commissioner of Police, Adesina Soyemi had immediately deployed Police personnel comprising of personnel of the Anti Kidnapping unit and Police Mobile Force men to the scene.
The PRI added that the CP had also visited the scene of the incident for on the spots assignment.
He assured that the police would conduct a comprehensive investigation inorder to unveil those responsible for the killing, rescue the victims and arrest the perpetrators.
The PPRO therefore called on members of the public with useful information to contact any nearby police station.
