Hajara Muhammed Confirmed As Kaduna State Electoral Commission Chairman

Kaduna State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Hajara Muhammad by Governor Uba Sani as the Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, KADSIECOM.

The House also confirmed the appointment of Malan Noel Haruna and Dr Fatima Kera as Permanent Commissioners of the commission after they all appeared before the Assembly for screening.

Before her appointment, Muhammad had been a staff of KADSIECOM since 2002 after bagging a Higher National Diploma, HND on Tourism at the Kaduna Polytechnic in 1999.

She also acquired a Post Graduate Diploma in International Studies and Diplomacy in 2004 at the same institution.

Muhammad also bagged a Master’s Degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution in 2022 from the National Open University of Nigeria.

While speaking with journalists after her confirmation, the new KADSIECOM Chairman stated that she would ensure credible elections were conducted and improve on the status quo.

Muhammd said, ”We will ensure that our ad hoc staff are well trained and our permanent staff improve their professionalism while being transparent and Inclusive.”
