Hajj 2022: First batch of 547 intending pilgrims arrive in Madina

The first batch of intending Pilgrims from Gombe State to Saudi Arabia have arrived safely in Madina for this year’s Hajj.

A statement by the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board said a total of 508 intending Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia were airlifted on Saturday, June 25, 2022, through the Gombe International Airport.

The statement said the intending Pilgrims were airlifted by Max Air and landed safely at the King Abdulazeez International Airport Jiddah in the same night of June 25. See below:

It said from there they proceeded to Madina for a visit to the Mosque of Prophet Muhammad, where they were expected to spend five days before moving back to Mecca for the lesser Hajj, before the commencement of Hajj exercise Proper.

The statement said out of the 547 intending Pilgrims, and 351 of the them were males and 196 others were females.

The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board says over one thousand Pilgrims would partake in this year’s Hajj to Saudi Arabia.
