The State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board will hold its first enlightenment lecture for intending pilgrims in the State.
This is part of arrangements for the 2025 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia in Kwara State North Central Nigeria.
The aim of the enlightenment is to equip them with the requisite information needed for a successful Hajj.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalaam Abdulkadir who stated this in his office while interacting with newsmen, advised all intending pilgrims to attend the important programme, explaining that salient issues related to the Hajj rites would be discussed.
Alhaji Abdulkadir explained that the enlightenment lecture would hold at the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Premises on Sunday 20th April, 2025.
In an interview with VON, the Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Abdulkadir disclosed that Kwara State was allocated with over four thousand (4, 000) for this year’s pilgrimage but only two thousand (2,100) seats were paid for.
Abdulkadir said payment for the 2025 pilgrimage has closed.
According to him, pilgrims from the state that paid through the board made an initial payment of N8.5m instead of the full payment of N8,457,685.59 while the sum of N40,000 which was excess payment would be refunded to each of the pilgrims.
He appealed to the pilgrims to abide strictly by all advice given to them by the board and the Islamic Scholars before, during and after the Hajj exercise and assured them that all humanly possible arrangements are being put in place for a successful pilgrimage.
