Hajj: Minister lauds Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in Abuja

The FCT Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud has expressed her happiness over the performance of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board during the 2024 Hajj

She made this known in Abuja after receiving a plague of appreciation from the team that led the Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board to this year’s Hajj operation

The Minister disclosed that the honour would go a long way in encouraging the administration to do more to enhance the provision of all support in religious activities in line with the renewed hope of the present administration.

She therefore reaffirmed the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s commitment to the welfare of the residents at home or outside the shore of the country.

Mahmoud stated that the administration under the leadership of the FCT Minister, Nyesome Wike and herself have been executing projects since assumption of office for the betterment of a befitting Capital Territory.

Presenting the Plague to the minister, the Director of the Board, Abubakar Adamu Evuti said the award was received in Saudi Arabia at a special stakeholders’ 2024 Hajj gathering organised by the Tawafah Company for Pilgrims of African Non-Arab Countries, popularly known as Mu’assasa.

He informed the Minister that the event was attended by dignitaries in Nigeria which include the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Jalal Arabi, States executives and major stakeholders in Hajj matters from Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

The Director described the award as an exciting development in Hajj administration in the Nigerian capital City, Abuja.

Meanwhile, about 3,000 pilgrims who participated in the 2024 Hajj have since returned home after exercise.
