Nigeria’s Minister of Water Resources, Mr. Suleiman Adamu has called for frequent hand washing practices to eliminate germs and diseases in Nigeria.

The Minister who made the call in Abuja, urged relevant Stakeholders in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, WASH sector, to increase awareness on the need for hand washing practices said this will lead to healthier lifestyle.
According to Adamu, Hand Hygiene for All Roadmap of the Federal Government initiated earlier this year was aimed at charting a course for ensuring affordable Products and Services..
He said the target is to enable the culture of hand washing with Soap and Water by Nigerians.
Adamu reeled out he activities on the line up for the commemoration of Year 2021 ,Global Hand Washing Day, which holds on the 15th of October.
The events on schedule includes Multi-stakeholder Session on WASH in Infection Prevention and Control and Pandemic Preparedness in Nigeria.
“We understand that the outbreak of Covid-19 has reawakened a consciousness of Hand washing practices and it is important that we ensure the sustainability of the behaviour to achieve Hand Hygiene for all”
“The main commemoration of the event of 15th October 2020 will bring together diverse stakeholders such as government, Civil Society Organizations, Development partners, school children, trade unions, Media and private sectors. The event will climax with performance of symbolic Hand Washing by the dignitaries in attendance”.
“There will be a group Hand washing and sensitization Which will be h0eld in schools, Health care facilities, motor parks, markets, IDP camps across the Nation as part of the Commemoration event at State level‘ , the minster said .
