Harry, Meghan unlikely to cut-off from British monarchy
Prince Harry, his wife Meghan Markle are most unlikely to cut-off from the British monarchy – despite their much talked about public fall-outs.
This is the view of British author Robert Lacey, who made this fact known while unveiling his new book titled ‘Battle of Brothers.’
Lacey said it was not in the interest of Harry and Meghan to completely isolate themselves from the monarchy despite the seeming acrimonious relationship with the House of Windsor.
”The point is they will never cease to be royal. We will never cease to think of Harry as Diana’s son, and William’s brother,” he said.
“At the end of the day, that’s the interest they hold for the rest of the world and I think that actually is a reason for hope in the future. They are never going to want to cut themselves off because frankly if they do cut themselves off, one wonders whether Netflix would want to renew their contract,” Lacey added.
The prolific author also shutdown any talk of a family negotiation following the death of Prince Philip.
But he did confirm that the much-publicized Oprah interview had created “deeper trust issues for the brothers.”
ROYAL TROUBLES
Lacey’s new book reveals that behind-the-scene tensions between crown Prince William and Prince Harry were chiefly responsible for the latter pulling the plug of royal duties.
The bad blood between the hitherto ‘closely-bonded brothers’ was not helped by yet another cold war between their own spouses Kate and Meghan.
Eventually Harry and Meghan announced in 2020 their decision to stepdown aside from royal duties and moved first to Canada and then the United States.
