Head of Civil Service Receives Commendation on Digitalisation

Nigeria’s Head of the Civil Service, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan has been commended for astute implementation of the digitalisation policy of the Federal Government for its processes.

The commendation was made during an Oversight Visit by the Committee, who came for monitoring of the 2021 and 2022 Budget performance of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, in Abuja.

House of Representatives Committee on Public Service Matters led by its Chairman, Sani Bala commended the Head of Service and her team for the efforts at raising the bar of the Service to an enviable height.

A member of the Committee, Beni Lar, while complementing the words of the Chairman, added that government processes should be completely digitalised to enshrine efficiency and transparency in governance, insisting that the Office of the Head of Civil Service’s efforts in that direction is a welcomed development.

In her Presentation,  Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, amongst numerous achievements of the Office, reiterated that the introduction and implementation of the Human Resource component (HR Module) of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) has greatly assisted the Federal Government in bridging the gap created by the implementation of the IPPIS project.

“It has also detected, as well as corrected a plethora of fraudulent cases pertaining to personnel records of Civil Servants, she added.

According to Dr. Yemi-Esan, the nationwide verification of the IPPIS-HR module conducted, has detected a total of 1,618 Officers, whose letter of employment were either fake or illegal; led to the suspension of 874 Officers from the IPPIS platforms for not updating their records and 3,657 workers detected by the Federal Civil Service Commission, who did not present themselves for the exercise.

She further highlighted other achievements of the Office in the following areas; Induction, SMAT- P and LEAD-P training programmes; Performance Management System (PMS), amongst others.
