Health Insurance: Abuja traders resolve to enrol

The Abuja Markets Management Limited and the Traders Association Dei – Dei International Building Materials have pledged to collaborate with the Federal Capital Territory Health Insurance scheme in accessing affordable health services for their members.

They made the pledge when leadership of the FCT health Insurance scheme embarked on sensitization campaign in the market to increase enrolment of beneficiaries in the capital city.

Leading the sensitization team to Dei – Dei International Building Materials Market in the FCT, the Deputy Director Operations FCT health Insurance scheme FHIS, Dr. Amina Zakari, encouraged the management of the market, the leadership of traders and their members to register with the scheme to enjoy affordable medical services.

According to her, “each member/person can register with thirteen thousand naira (N13, 000) only for a one year health insurance”.

Dr. Amina highlighted benefits of the Scheme to include “emergency care, consultation with specialists, outpatient care, maternity and various categories of surgeries”.

Conducting the FHIS team to the markets, the Manager Dei – Dei International Building Materials Market Mrs. Deborah Jacob Jai said “about 200 permanent staff of the market have been enrolled into the scheme”.

She promised to make temporary staff to enrol into the insurance scheme.

Also, the Chairman of the traders, Mr. Raphael Onah expressed readiness for his members to be enrolled into the FCT health insurance scheme in view of its relevance.

He urged the management of the FCT health insurance scheme to “make time and come for a town hall engagement with traders for better understanding and enrolment of interested members”.

Members of the FCT health insurance scheme moved round different sections of Dei – Dei International Building Materials Market distributing flyers and creating awareness on the importance of enrolment into the scheme.
