Health Minister Pate Unveils Groundbreaking General Hospital in Anambra

The Minister of Health, Professor Ali Pate together with Governor Chukwuma Soludo, in a notable advancement for healthcare in Anambra State, has officially opened the newly constructed General Hospital in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area.
This milestone coincides with the three-year anniversary of Governor Soludo’s administration and represents the first General Hospital ever built in Okpoko.
Minister Pate praised the transformational progress observed in Okpoko, recalling the area’s previous challenging conditions. He commended Governor Soludo’s visionary leadership and dedication to uplifting the community through effective healthcare initiatives.
He noted that, “The hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities and equipment will undoubtedly improve healthcare outcomes for the community.”
In his address, Governor Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure across the state. He emphasized that this new facility symbolizes a commitment to better health outcomes, enhanced wellness, and a brighter future for the citizens of Anambra.
The hospital boasts modern medical equipment, expanded facilities, and enhanced patient care services, ready to offer a comprehensive range of healthcare, including emergency care, maternal and child health services, and general outpatient services.

The commissioning event also featured the inauguration of several complementary projects, including the desilting of drainage channels, the clearing of the Sakamori canal, the installation of solar-powered streetlights, as well as a water project and a 15-kilometer road upgrade.
