Healthcare Professionals seeks Innovative Solutions To Health Management

In order to drive the conversation of innovative solutions to challenges in the health sector, OneBarrow, a private firm  brought together healthcare experts and professionals for a Health Equity Conference in Abuja Nigeria’s Capital.

OneBarrow International is a private firm that aims to empower accessible, equitable and sustainable healthcare systems and services through collaborations with healthcare organizations and the communities they serve.

Addressing the participants at the Conference, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate decry the acute shortage of trained manpower that is further aggravated by the migration of the health work force for greener pasture, a trend Nigeria’s government is committed to reversing.

He said Nigeria currently is confronted with numerous health challenges that require urgent attention including communicable and non-communicable diseases.

He therefore called on the participants to recognize that innovations hold tremendous potential to bridging the gaps in healthcare access and quality which must be pursued with informed mindset and a sense of responsibility.

From telemedicine that connects underserved populations with critical medical services, to data analytics that identify disparities and inform policy decisions, technology can be a powerful ally (tool) in our pursuit of health equity. However, it is essential to approach this challenge with a commitment to inclusivity”.

“While technology can create new opportunities, we must ensure that its benefits reach all communities, particularly those that have historically been marginalized. By leveraging technology thoughtfully and collaboratively, we can dismantle barriers, promote equitable access to care, and ultimately improve health outcomes for everyone”.

He pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic, which ushered in widespread acceptance of telehealth and other digital innovations in medicine, changed the game for the healthcare sector and Nigeria witnessed a profound lesson that transcends borders while challenging it to ensure that its healthcare system possesses the resilience to prepare, recover from, and absorb shocks.

 

 

 

Professor Pate called on the health professionals to seek advancement that uplift all individuals, regardless of their background in order to create a healthier, more equitable future for all.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer, OneBarrow International Limited, Yemi Ajao highlighted how critical seamless collaboration between healthcare providers is to a robust healthcare system.

He advocated for a platform known as the iDoctorAccess which he said is designed to address the challenges of patience and Doctors by integrating all healthcare providers to hospitals, pharmacies, labs, specialists into a unified digital ecosystem.

According to him, the pain, frustrations, and the obstacles patients encounter in accessing quality care nececitated discuss with the aim of addressing the issues while harnessing the power of technology to bridge the gaps in care delivery.
